I write today to ask for your help.
In the past two weeks, I have been balancing work as a practicing employment lawyer, time with family, and running for School Board. I returned to Alignment Southwest Charlotte to hear successes from Olympic High School and its feeder schools, and hear great words from new Superintendent Clayton Wilcox. I toured The Relatives, a vital shelter and resource for homeless children in our community, and connected them to the Charlotte Area Society for Human Resource Management, of which I am a past president, and the National Association of African American Human Resource Managers, where I was recently a guest speaker. I met with parents from Myers Park still confused and angry about the student assignment process. I met with still more parents in the Beverly Crest neighborhood at the southern end of District Five. I signed up as a reader for Freedom Schools of Charlotte (you should too!). I am working to break down silos in our community, spread the good news in CMS, and I need your help. Today. Right now.
June 30 is a major fundraising deadline. Your donation of $20, $50, or $100, can help me spread the good news in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Add your name to the list of more than 30 current and former elected officials, and 40 diverse and bipartisan attorneys of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, who proudly and generously support Stephenson for School Board in this November’s election.
Thank you for your support,
